Hatha yoga classes form the basis of our yoga community. To be in the presence of good company is both supportive and inspiring as we follow our own path and find our place in society. The transformative wisdom of yoga empowers us to realise our full potential. The philosophy is simple, profound and clear. With regular practice we can maintain our natural condition of an easeful body, a peaceful mind and a useful life. Integral Yoga comprises a synthesis of the major branches of traditional understanding – we do so much more than just stretch and strengthen. Naturally the hatha classes focus mostly on hatha, however, when we combine regular practice with reflective awareness, we open to the deeper experience of the classical elements of yoga. We observe raja wisdom, particularly with the yoga nidra, express karmic understanding by not expecting praise for our efforts, offer bhakti qualities with chanting, enhance japa traits during mantra meditation and augment jnana qualities by developing a witnessing attitude. The following programs offer multiple ways to integrate the yoga teachings, to nourish your being and invite more clarity into your life.
Restorative Yoga in Sandringham – Sunday 12 July 3.00 – 4.15pm, $20/$18 concession
Restorative yoga is the practice of specific asanas with the body fully supported by pillows, bolsters and blankets. In the supported state, yoga poses can be held for a longer time, enhancing their therapeutic benefits and helping you rest deeply and completely. Suitable for people with various conditions and especially relaxing for those in good health, new and experienced students are welcome. This session will be held at Shanthi’s home studio in Sandringham and bookings are required. Please liaise with me for the address or further details.
Winter Group Meditation – Saturday 25 July 10.30-11.00am, $5
Rejoice in the winter season. Savour your inner light and share it with friends and family. Meditation provides the tools for navigating inner personal callings and cooperating with others. It calms the mind and exposes the natural peace within. Meditation acts as a clearing and cleansing process leaving us mentally refreshed and relaxed. With practice, we carry this state of mind with us all through our daily life. Group meditation creates a powerful energy which deepens the experience of inner harmony. We can use any personal technique that prevents the mind from wandering. Brief instructions will be included before we begin. There is no requirement to practise hatha yoga to attend this session. Guru Purnima Hatha Class and Chanting – Saturday 1 August 9.00-10.30am, $20/$18 concession or use your class card
This class honours teachings from the past and present that foster wisdom, healing, love and light throughout the world. We will open with hatha yoga and close with kirtan chanting to reflect the core understanding of Integral Yoga ‘Truth is One, Paths are Many’. The objective of Integral Yoga, and the birthright of every individual, is to realize the spiritual unity behind all the diversities in the entire creation, and to live harmoniously as members of one universal family. Regular practice helps us to cope with stress, improve health, unlock creativity, and more! These classes are suitable for new students and for those wishing to enhance or strengthen their practice. They will equip you with the information, experience and motivation required for regular practice. To develop a clear understanding and to derive the maximum benefits, you are encouraged to book for both sessions however you are welcome to attend either class on a casual basis. Please discuss any specific requests with me so the classes can be tailored to meet your needs.

Connect with the essence of your true nature and allow all aspects of your being to unite during this yoga immersion. The retreat day is designed for all ages and levels of experience. It will provide tools to create lasting, positive awareness and allow you to delve mindfully into your practice. We will investigate the integration of consciousness, breath, mind, body and lifestyle as we explore the connection with ourselves and the world around us. To derive the maximum benefits and develop a profound bond with your inner self you are encouraged to attend for the whole day, although bookings may be accepted for the morning or afternoon only. A nourishing hot lunch and healthy snacks are included. We cater to all dietary requirements. Space is limited and bookings are essential. A deposit of $50 or the full early bird fee is required to confirm your commitment and secure a place.
